What would be the best way to find the missing angle of an obtuse triangle? why?
Go to the Algebra Section. I have uploaded the Algebra Quiz. I want you to redo the Algebra Quiz over the weekend. You can earn half the points back if you get a 100% on the Algebra Quiz. YOU MUST TURN IT IN BEFORE ADVISORY ON MONDAY!
THEN ANSWER THE QUESTION: Since we are scheduling this week and many of you are thinking about your future careers, how do you think that you could use the Geometry that we have talked about so far in class in your future career? Be Specific! (If you do not know exactly what you want to do, pick a career that interests you). We have been talking about transformations. This year and in the past, you have learned about 4 transformations, translation, reflection, rotation, and dilation. How do you think that we could use transformations to prove that triangles are similar?
If you found the angle bisector in every angle of a triangle, would it be possible for the point of intersection to lay in the exterior of the triangle? explain how you came to your conclusion?
Happy November! Don't forget that we will finish the test first thing on Monday. Also, there will be a large quiz next Friday (in two weeks).
Blog: If you drew a perpendicular bisector through each side of a triangle, where will the bisectors intersect? I think it is time to reflect again...as I am grading Algebra Quizzes I realize that many of you are not doing well on them, Everything that I quiz you on is over material that you should have learned and retained last year (and we also review in class). I need you to answer three questions for me:
1. If you are doing poorly (anything below a 7), why? If you are doing well, why? 2. What can you do to improve your grade (if you are doing poorly)? What can you do to continue to do well (if you are)? 3. Remembering that you are in a Geometry class and Geometry is the primary focus of our class time, what more can I do to help you be successful on the Algebra Quizzes? (Giving you more time to complete the quiz is not an option, it should not take you more than 10 minutes to do 5 Algebra I questions) Explain why it is not possible to prove two triangles are congruent if they have three pairs of congruent angles.
P.S - Don't forget that we will be having the homework and Algebra quiz on Monday. Also, your Quest retest are due Monday morning at 7:45am. Let's Think Ahead: How we would we know, or could we prove that two triangles are congruent? Explain your answer.
As soon are finishing up your first quarter at high school, I want you to reflect. Please answer these following questions in paragraph form (This will be a longer blog post):
1. What makes high school more challenging than middle school? 2. What are the characteristics of a successful honors student? 3. Do you believe that you have 100% portrayed these characteristics in my classroom? 4. What can you do to improve in my class? |
